Video: Why is Scheduling Youth Travel Leagues Difficult

Scheduling youth travel leagues is difficult.  It is difficult because the data varies significantly each year and there is a large amount of data to manage.

It is hard to use a template when the data changes each year.  For example, the number of teams each club submits to the league each year changes by age group based on registration success.  Coaches that are coaching their kids, coach in different age groups and skill levels each year based on the success of their teams.  Field availability and location changes with each season.  These are just a few reasons that make using a template an unsuccessful scheduling tactic in youth sports.

The other major hurdle for youth sport schedulers is managing the scheduling data.  Team scheduling data includes home field location, coaches, blackout dates, field availability, and “special requests”.  The larger a league the more difficult it is manage and use this data in the scheduling process.

TeamsCompete solves this problem by automating the scheduling process and delivering to the league a schedule that has been fully vetted by the member programs.

The TeamsCompete’s video Why is Scheduling youth Travel Leagues so Difficult? describes the challenges leagues face and how TeamsCompete Scheduling Service addresses them.
